As an important way to implement core literacy, unit teaching design plays an important role in chemistry teaching. At present, there are few studies on unit teaching design of junior middle school chemistry, and most of them take senior high school chemistry as the research object. Therefore, this study takes junior middle school chemistry as the research object, discusses the unit teaching design of junior middle school chemistry based on core literacy, in order to provide reference for front-line teachers.On the basis of combing relevant literature, this study defines the concepts of core literacy and unit teaching design, and puts forward the principles and processes of unit teaching design of junior middle school chemistry based on core literacy based on constructivist learning theory, learning progression theory and holistic teaching theory. Taking the unit of \Water in Nature\ in the ninth grade chemistry of the People's Education Edition as an example, the unit teaching design was carried out, and the teaching practice research was carried out. Through questionnaire survey, interview, paper-and-pencil test and other methods, the teaching effect was analyzed, and the following conclusions were drawn:(1) The unit teaching design of junior middle school chemistry based on core literacy is helpful to improve students' interest in chemistry learning, improve students' chemistry
